Sanam Tahmasebi, aka Sanamika, is a singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, improviser, and lyricist. She was born and raised in Tehran, Iran, and now calls the Netherlands home. Her musical journey began at a young age, initially studying classical guitar in Tehran before taking her passion for music to the next level.


In 2011, she moved to Italy to pursue her music career, where she commenced her jazz music studies as a vocalist and earned a bachelor's degree in Jazz Vocals from the "Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory" in Milan. Later, she continued her academic journey, achieving a master's degree at the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen.


Sanamika's musical style is a fusion of various genres, including traditional Persian music, jazz, experimental sounds, and electronic compositions. Over the past decade, she has collaborated with various interdisciplinary collectives and contributed to numerous projects, such as "Als het anders loopt," a musical theater performance by Het Houten Huis and Club Guy & Roni, "Baken Afsluitdijk," an auditory exhibition by Hi-Lo production, and "De Kraak," an animated spatial installation by Production House Spinbarg.
