Sanam Tahmasebi a.k.a Sanamika is an Iranian vocalist and composer. Her love for music was ignited at a very young age as she started playing classical guitar and later followed her studies in classical guitar at Tehran art and music university.
In 2011 to pursue her career in music, she moved to Italy where she started her jazz music studies as a vocalist and got graduated in bachelor's degree in Jazz Vocals at “Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory” in Milan.
In 2015 she moved to Netherlands, where she studied her master of music in Jazz vocal and composition at Prince Clause Conservatoire, Groningen, under the guidance of musicians such as Rembrandt Frerichs, JD Walter, Paul Berner and Frank Wingold.
After moving to Netherlands Sanamika started to become more and more interested in songwriting and she got involved in new projects, from Persian traditional and folk music to more improvised, modern Jazz, experimental and electronic music, likewise she got involved in collaborating with different collective cross-arts projects.
In 2019 she started her new experimental solo project in which she writes songs inspired by traditional Persian vocal techniques, jazz and modern music combined with live electronics.
She has shared the stage with great musicians such as Steven Bernstein with Ritmo della citta project (2012,Milan) and as a soloist with Milan E-Motion project(World Music meets Electronics) directed by Goivanni Cospito in July 2014. She won the first prize at Crema Jazz Art Festival with Simone Daclon, Alessandro Usai,Alex Orciari and Roberto Paglieri in August 2015.
